Stereo/Filter is where sound, writing, and visual exploration come together.

It was started by Ivan Tomić (Vinterkarusell), whose story with sound began behind a microphone at a local radio station in Stavanger, Norway. Nights spent DJing in youth clubs and small venues shaped a lasting fascination with rhythm, texture, and energy. Music became a way to connect people through shared emotion.

In 2008, that curiosity turned into electronic music production, an outlet for ideas and emotions that didn’t quite fit into words. After a long pause in 2015, the process found its way back a decade later, clearer and more intentional. The result is a body of work that drifts between introspective ambient landscapes and rhythmic, high-energy tracks rooted in house, trance, progressive house, and drum and bass.

Alongside his music, Ivan has developed a love for photography and drone videography, capturing moments shaped by light, weather, and motion. His visual work often mirrors his sound: textural, and emotionally charged. It’s all part of the same ongoing exploration of how we experience mood and space through different senses.

Today, Vinterkarusell continues through sound, images, and writing that reflect on the realities of making art independently. Stereo/Filter is a working space—part field report, part personal essay, and an open invitation to look and listen more closely.
